News from the Shed March 2022
2022 Annual General Meeting Channel Men’s Shed Inc
The meeting was held at Channel Men’s Shed premises on Tuesday March 8.
Edna Pennicott OAM was a special guest for International Women’s Day at a meeting of the Channel Men’s Shed. Edna shared funny stories, gave the CMS Members an insight as to how she became involved in voluntary work and acknowledged the support of Kingborough Helping Hands volunteers and the Channel Men’s Shed. Shed members regularly provide cooked meals and support for the Loui’s Van service.
President Peter Norris provided the President’s report on the years activities.
Peter Shelley was presented with an engraved plaque, acknowledging his tireless work helping establish the Shed and as President, Past President and Committee Member. Peter has stepped down from the Committee to dedicate his time to the Hobart City Community Shed. He will of course remain a Member of CMS.
There was no election required for the Committee as none of the positions were contested. Please contact the shed if a list of current committee members is needed.
Shed Visit by MG Car Club Members
Sunday 27th the Shed was opened at the request of a Member for Members of the MG Car Club to visit the Shed on their Sunday drive. Channel Men’s Shed hosted morning tea and the Car Club Members were given a short talk on how the Shed had progressed over the last twelve years.
They then proceeded to Dru Point for a Club barbecue.
A number of visitors took CMS application forms, one Member handing his in on the day.
